I'm almost 43 years old, I've been playing games since the end of the 80s, and yes, gaming has changed and is changing, but I feel that there's something for everyone. Gatekeeping is never a good practice, and it's only natural that some genres are more popular than others.

Those are just the first things that come to mind. Even with the consoles' identity crisis and terrible practices of the big manufacturers, I feel that shifting to PC gaming is not a no-brainer as it seems in recent discourse, unfortunately.

- The quality of PC ports has steeply declined in the last 5 or so years
- Hardware cost is a concern to the point that a PS5 now is probably the best deal for the average gamer
- Nvidia features are locked out behind Windows

I've been on this boat for the last 10 years, and in my experience, there are pros and cons:

+ Steam is a great ecosystem
+ Unparalleled flexibility with additional settings, mods, etc
+ A ton of available experiences outside of usual front stores (emulation, recompilation projects, RTX remixes)

I finally started Silksong yesterday, and the presentation is so perfect that it has me questioning the entire concept of technical evolution.

This is something only those who weren't there can say. The Wii U era was the most painful for Nintendo fans, and I will never understand the nostalgia for it outside of being your childhood console.

It is also why I don't get all the reactions to this aspect: the only real interconnected Metroidvania in the Prime series was the first one. It was a bit delusional to expect Prime 4 to be THAT kind of game after 2, 3, and also Dread.

It was also the first Prime to have a hub area and not an interconnected world. It was not as expensive as Hyrule, but it is the same game design principle.

Picked up this morning! It was surreal seeing it after a 18 years wait. Can’t wait to dive in.

I don’t really care about review scores for this game: the last Retro game that was heavily criticized was Tropical Freeze, and it’s now regarded as one of the best 2D platform games of all time. Can’t wait for Thursday.

I've finally upgraded to an LG 34'' Ultrawide OLED monitor (UltraGear OLED 34GS95QE to be correct), and it is glorious!

I've been playing Outlaws on and off lately, and it looks incredible with RTXDI. As much as I usually don't like Ubisoft, I feel they're somewhat unsung heroes when talking about modern engines.

No apology needed: quality needs time, and your reviews are hands down the best.

Is it just me or the Switch 2 Edition got way better textures than the first reveal?

If the rumored PS handheld is real, it is possible that PS5 will be around even longer than PS4.

I agree. I believe the Wii's success almost similarly derailed Nintendo, too, and they found their way again only with the Switch.

I spent some time on Night Manor last weekend, and it's just another gem. I'm constantly amazed by the depth and care put into every game, even when they are not my cup of tea (pun intended).

Can't wait for the inevitable N64 episode where Try teaches us how wrong the world is about the controller for three hours straight!
On a serious note, being a fan of both DF and MLiG, this is a dream collaboration for me!
