Zombie speed debate: Do you enjoy watching slow zombies (Romero) or fast zombies (28 Days Later)? The question is: predictable threat or unpredictable? Slow zombies let you plan. Fast zombies force instinct. Both are terrifying for different reasons.

I have a little boost for those of you playing a more cutthroat route through Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven.
In the next patch, if you choose to take ongoing tribute from the River Dogs, they will now pay tribute. It will be reported by Rachel during downtime.

Zombie apocalypse would you rather:
Your camp is in a junkyard with strong walls, a mechanic, and an auto shop, but surrounded by open roads that attract infected.
OR
An abandoned factory with clean water and power generation, excellent cover, but 8 people defending it. Everyone knows it's there.
Safe Haven has over 30 survivors across the full series with different backgrounds, different skill sets, and different ways of surviving.
Which one caught you off guard? Which character did you never expect to like?
I'm curious whether players and I landed on the same ones.
Something I didn't expect when building Safe Haven's cast:
The characters who started as "minor" supporting roles ended up with the deepest arcs.
Rosie was written as a short cameo. She's now one of the most-discussed characters in the series.
Writing/Design Philosophy
The hardest thing to get right in 2.7 million words:
Making players feel the weight of a choice before they make it.
Anyone can write consequences. The craft is in the setup. If your player never second-guesses themselves, the choice didn't matter.
Character spotlight: RACHEL
Former MI6. On assignment in the US when the outbreak hit. She spent weeks pretending to be just another survivo, letting people trust her naturally before she admitted what she was.
She regrets the deception. But the reason she's good at surviving.
You're infected. Dark veins spreading from the bite. Fever spiking. You have hours. Your friends are nearby? Do you tell them?
