"This is what it's really like being the 'Other Woman' - and it's nothing like you'd imagine" When Phoebe Smith began to suspect the man she was seeing was hiding something, she attracted a label that would change the way the world saw her, and the way she viewed herself.

@phoebesmith.bsky.social author of #Wayfarer writes about what it is like to be the other woman

Saturday Live on Radio 4 normally drives me a bit crazy but @phoebesmith.bsky.social talking about pilgrimage is wonderful, she's really captured how I feel about it. Although I must be a pretty sinful person heading off for my 4th pilgrimage to Santiago! #Camino #Peregrina #Pilgrimage

I’ve just listened to @phoebesmith.bsky.social on @bbcradio4.bsky.social. It reminded me of how exquisitely her book Wayfarer, wraps up both pain and pleasure. I loved it and definitely recommend it as one to read.πŸ‘‡

Been laid up with a wrenched muscle in my back so read this straight through in two days and it was a damn good read! In my 40s when I was desperately unhappy I took up long distance walking and this book resonated with me on so many levels, definitely recommend this @phoebesmith.bsky.social

Really enjoying this by @phoebesmith.bsky.social in advance of our conversation at Stanfords Travel Writers Festival next month. Had no idea that, because of Henry VIII, pilgrimages are still technically illegal in the UK…

My multi-gen Malaysian rail adventure (with a three and 71-year-old) A fortnight travelling from Singapore to Bangkok with her dad and her toddler was a big family holiday test for this writer β€” with some surprises along the way

Thankyou Shaf that is really kind to say. I do believe it got a (very good) review in Geographical, but as a former editor I know all too well the reality behind these lists. Do not worry 😊

Ah thankyou Mary for your support and advocacy πŸ™ the feedback I’ve had is that in the book I deal with some very raw issues which can make people (esp men) uncomfortable. I think we women always tread that fine line and sometimes but I have no regrets about being so honest.
