we almost had this same incident verbatim, except we learned that the artist in question had THREE years of like... Half-done comms? would finish some, then open emergency comms, and ignore the rest without any communication

Hi! As y'all know, I am currently working on a black FFXIV modding compendium. As of right now, the spreadsheet is aiming to contain links to Dawntrail compatible mods hosted on XMA and/or Heliosphere (only these two) that meet at least one of the following criteria: - Mods that are very directly made with black characters in mind (EX: black hair mods, sculpts with black features, etc.), - Mods that are directly shown to work on darker skin tones through proper previewing (EX: body mods previewed on darker skin tones, makeups previewed on darker skin tones, etc.), - Mods that promote more racial diversity ingame that could possibly help black players feel more seen and properly represented. (EX: NPC overhaul mods, etc.), - Guides and resources to promote further creation of inclusive mods (EX: Devkits, Guides, Resource Bundles, etc.), However! Unlike my transmasculine compendium, I am unable to curate mods for this based off my own personal lived experience. I am white, and I really do not feel right putting out resource on an assumption that I am fulfilling the needs of my black peers. I want to confidently know that I have done everything I can to make sure this resource accurately represents the wants and needs of the wonderful black players in this community. With that in mind, I am looking to reach out to my black friends, followers, mutuals, and broader members of the community for assistance! I want to hear your feedback on the sheet while it's in an early access stage. This means telling me what's good about it, how it can be improved, and also (potentially, if you're willing) helping me find and locate mods to add onto the growing list!

Here is a vague TLDR of the questions I'll likely ask: - Do you see any mods that aren’t listed on here, but are on you feel should be on here? Any mods that shouldn’t be included? - Are there any additional categories you suggest? Should a current category be split? Removed? - In your opinion, what makes a mod preview a good mod preview that helps black players in deciding whether or not to download a mod? What about mod descriptions? - For skin diffuse mods, what would you consider to be an ideal preview image? How should modders properly display a variety of skin tones? - In your opinion, what should players avoid doing when it comes to creating, naming, and describing black mods? Aaaand a TLDR of questions relating to credit & compensation: - Would you be comfortable with being publicly credited as a main contributor? (This would be listed publicly on the sheet, but remaining anonymous is 100% okay.), - Would you be comfortable with providing me with your Kofi so I can direct people to tip you to show appreciation for the sheet? (Same as above, saying no and remaining anonymous is 100% okay.), - Are you comfortable with me tipping you in thanks for your time and patience with helping me work on this sheet? (I'm insisting upon doing this since IMO this does classify as emotional labor, but if it really would make you uncomfortable then I 100% won't push!), These questions will be asked to multiple people, so my aim is to get a solid group of opinions and adjust, tweak, modify, and improve things from there! Hello friends! I'm retiring from the FFXIV RP sphere and from leading the Bloodsands to dedicate my life to loving my partner to the fullest of my capabilities and making an IRL community

We had a good run, and I appreciate all the love and support this community's given me! A final note:

(bonus: I went to extra tutorings, office hours, etc, and still absolutely sucked at multi-dimensional vector calc, but because my prof saw I was putting in the effort, she slid me by with exactly the grade I needed to pass. I got her a fruit basket)

but also it's okay that it's hard! You don't need to get an A+ on this, you just gotta pass, and your prof obviously cares about you

I know it's super stressful and you aren't probably looking for advice, but I do want to say that unless you studied languages as a kid and developed that pathway, it will be HARD

maybe it seems cruel and not particularly humanist to want to run racists out of every community by bombarding them with demands that they kermit. but consider that coddling racists and insisting that "both sides are valid" is how we got where we are today. time for that to end i think.
