First Nib & Ink Fest online comic convention continues Plenty of events for comic creators still to come

The organising team at the US-based but international Cartoonist Cooperative have put together Nib & Ink Fest, an online comics fest offering a whole host of panels, workshops, and portfolio reviews, with multiple events every Saturday and Sunday this month

Thank you for writing this. This post helped me process some of my thoughts around this all.

I'm still a very new cartoonist, but Silver Sprocket was the first place I sold my comics. It's been sad to hear about how many artists were burned by them.

Comic page 01. "I saw you while riding the subway. You were trying so hard not to cry." Person with a bob haircut sees a long-haired woman crying from across a subway car. Both are seated.

Comic page 02. "My whole life, I had never used my powers do brazenly. My whole life." Person is on phone. They move their finger subtly to wipe away the crying woman's tear. The woman looks confused at the floating droplet, but feels relieved as the droplet dissipates. Person looks on, lightly blushing.

A 2-page comic about surreptitious water manipulation.
