🆕 We compared 10 ml vs 20 ml ropivacaine for extrafascial interscalene blocks. Published in BJA!
💡 Key finding:
Diaphragmatic paralysis ↓ from 80% ➝ 19% with 10 ml
But: shorter analgesia & ↑ mo use

New meta-analysis: Perineural dexamethasone slightly extends analgesia duration after peripheral nerve block in lower limb surgery compared to IV (22h vs 20h). Statistically significant, but clinically limited impact. Please stick with the iv route. #Analgesia #Research #EJA2024
