And you know, with all of the "smart" features they push onto your devices nowadays (sometimes even enabling them through updates even after you turned them off before!), it's possible that some features got added/activated that were listening for voice commands, like turning-on your media player~?

It definitely can be, and nowadays they all wanna push all the bullshit AI features on ya, which really sucks!

But hey, I'd say that if you feel there's a legitimate risk that someone's actually managed to get access to your computer, it's worth the hassle of giving it a refresh~!

If you're concerned about your phone or computer OS, it might be worth backing up sensitive data and resetting them~

This also tends to help iron-out quirks in the software like you're experiencing~!

I'd say that a new keyboard might be in order if you're getting false presses, and it might also explain some of the un-mutes if those false presses are effecting a mic-toggle hotkey for the program! (Very annoying!)

I've had volume issues like that when my phone's been connected to wireless headphones that have the ability to control functions like volume and calls~ One of my phones started to flicker on and off because some gunk had started shorting the contacts on its power button internally!

At least from a practical standpoint, the circumstances it would take to not only connect to your phone wirelessly without your knowledge/consent but also keep it undetected for long enough just to toy with the volume to spook you feels staggeringly high versus something less sinister~
