Watch this. Spread it far and wide. This is the song for our times.
We are all Minneapolis. They are all fascists.

I care. A while back, our mailman took the time to ask us why our mail had been stopped since we were clearly not away, and saved us from an attempt at identity theft.

Large Language Muddle | The Editors The AI upheaval is unique in its ability to metabolize any number of dread-inducing transformations. The university is becoming more corporate, more politically oppressive, and all but hostile to the ...

YES! THIS on GenAI!

Please read this absolutely splendid piece of writing that had me cheering, a little bit weepy, and writing in the margins:

"An extraordinary amount of money is spent by the AI industry to ensure that acquiescence is the only plausible response. But marketing is not destiny."

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.

Canadian family physician here. The US war on vaccines is hurting infants and children beyond the US border. We, too, are seeing an unprecedented increase in measles and other vaccine preventable diseases due to disinformation and to travel of unvaccinated populations.

Wish Canada could sue RFK Jr.
