I have been reading (and translating, don't worry, you'll get your turn) the official Japanese guide / fact file for this game and the love in it for Scribe Shanky is infectious. An absolute gay (and possibly non-binary) icon, and I am here for all of it, thank you Squaresoft 🙏🏳️‍🌈🐾

Musashi, from the game Brave Fencer Musashi, drawn as a dog. He is going "blech" and is thinking that he hates bread and wishes it were a rice ball.

I learned from the #BraveFencerMusashi novel that he doesn't like bread.

I find it strange that they changed the booze to food, but then decided (I guess?) that it would be strange if you were forbidden to buy them (which is how it is in Japan), so they changed it so you can buy them. my friend says an easier solution would have been to say "we're out of pork chops"!

😂 no one really, I was being silly, but ppl have pitied me when I've had to move in the past & had to bring all my stuff. The TVs I ended up with kind of by accident. 1 is my original from when I was a kid, but the other 2 I bought from thrift stores to help a local Anime con...then I just kept them

remember, next time you're in Mannick's Restaurant (which is actually a bar) and you want to buy Musashi a pork chop (which is actually brandy) you shouldn't do that (Musashi is ten years old)*

*(the Japanese version does not let you do this)

so already I have learned that if you start the two games at the exact same time, the Japanese one ends up lagging like a full minute behind just because it takes longer to say things in Japanese. so that's interesting (not useful for my particular needs, but interesting)

Jay I am sitting here in shock at the lack of Brave Fencer Musashi information on the internet & I'm going to have to fix it

& I'm baffled by this because I knew it was not a very commonly discussed game, but I didn't think it would be so bad that there aren't even scans of some of the characters??

they mocked me for collecting multiple crts and alternate language versions of each of my favorite games but when the internet fails to provide me with proper JPN>USA comparisons for a beloved game I happen to be translating a novel for, who laughs now? 🤔

p.s. I'm (slowly) translating the BFM novel (#1) right now which led to me using the Japanese guidebook to help me identify enemies/character names easier to compare them to English & I just saw this & uh?? (translation is automated through my phone but it is accurate)

just found out Musashi (aka Sir Little Turd) is only slightly shorter than I am and idk how I feel about that
