Final: T’wolves 94, Clippers 88. Clippers fought valiantly. But lack of 3s (5) and attempts (22), coupled with turnovers (19), was too much to hold off Anthony Edwards’ heroics (31). Clippers are 27-31. Maybe we’ll see Darius Garland, Kawhi Leonard, and John Collins on Sunday.

Clippers trail Timberwolves, 85-82, with 3:36 left. Counting tonight, the Clippers are shooting 26.5% on 3s since the All-Star break (26-for-98).

Clippers have struggled to find offense for much of the night, as you would expect. The lulls have been, well, dreary. But it is looking like a game where perhaps the starters should close it because of their versatility. We will see, though. Clippers trail Timberwolves, 76-74.

How do you survive in a game down Kawhi Leonard, Darius Garland, and John Collins? You play stout defense and drag the opposition down into the muck with you. Clippers, for three quarters, have done that.

End Q3: Clippers 68, Timberwolves 63. Clippers are 3-for-17 on 3s, but it hasn’t mattered too much yet because they’ve gotten to the line 23 times and Minnesota is just 5-for-19 themselves. It’s been a rock fight. But the Clippers, down multiple high-level starters, are battling.

Kris Dunn might not be making 3s. Kris Dunn might not be taking 3s. But Kris Dunn is affecting a basketball game in a major way. Dunn has scored or assisted on the last six Clippers points, and they now lead the Timberwolves, 52-50.

The 38 points scored by the LA Clippers tonight were the fewest they’ve scored in a first half so far this season, and the lowest since they scored 32 on Dec. 14, 2024, also at home against these same Minnesota Timberwolves.

Halftime: Timberwolves 44, Clippers 38. The Clippers have been the NBA’s worst 3-point team since the All-Star break. Tonight’s first half is the cellar: 0-for-11 before Bogdan Bogdanovic’s try beat the buzzer. Shooting 36% overall. Somehow, someway, still in this.
