join us for a discussion with Strong Towns! Friday, January 23, 2026 | 5:30 pm Manny's 3092 16th St (16th and Valencia) San Francisco, CA 94103 San Francisco is facing real challenges around housing, infrastructure, transit, and city finances. Many of these issues share a common root: development patterns that are expensive to maintain and hard to adapt over time. Join Strong Towns, the Strong Towns San Francisco Local Conversation, and San Francisco YIMBY for a casual meetup focused on the underlying financial condition of San Francisco and how decades of suburban-style development have shaped todayβs housing and budget debates. Norm Van Eeden Petersman from Strong Towns will give a short, San Franciscoβspecific talk, followed by open discussion and shared learning across movements working toward a more abundant, resilient city. Whether you come from YIMBY advocacy, local organizing, or simple curiosity about how cities really function, this is a space to connect ideas and people. No tickets or signup required, this is a free event and the venue has a lot of nearby Muni lines plus a BART station a block away. We hope to see you there and please feel free to bring along a friend who is interested in housing, transit, infrastructure, urban design, or city finances. After the event, anyone who wants to continue the conversation is welcome to walk over to Standard Deviant Brewing (14th St). Look for the Strong Towns shirt.

06.11.2025 22:25 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Scott has been unwavering in his commitment to building more housing, the YIMBY movement's most important champion in elected office, and we stand with the leader who has stood with us from the beginning. As the YIMBY movement goes nationwide, we can't think of a better champion in Washington.

Highlights, continued:
SB 423: permanently codified SB 35 and added provisions to make it stronger
SB 79: his most recent achievement, legalized multi-family housing near major transit hubs throughout the state
Highlights of his record include:
SB 35: removed needless roadblocks and sped up the production thousands of affordable homes across California
SB 828: reformed state planning law and actually provided a real path to require San Francisco to produce the homes it desperately needs
In his nine years as a State Senator, Scott has worked tirelessly on impactful legislation that has ignited the YIMBY movement nationwide and inspired countless other legislators throughout the country. We have no doubt he can have the same impact in Congress.
