The U.S. state is a cohesive entity, with its arms and ideological apparatuses maintaining narratives that legitimize its actions. It’s not just about PR—it’s about securing capitalist control over resources and people globally

The military-industrial complex also benefits. Defense contractors, who fund politicians, profit immensely as bombs fall on Gaza. Arms sales and military aid aren't anomalies; they’re key features of how the state supports capital through conflict.

This would destabilize the superstructure that props up the ruling class. The mechanisms of consent manufacturing involve every aspect of the superstructure: schools sanitize colonial history, avoid critiquing Zionism, and present U.S. imperialism as justified.

The idea of U.S. prestige is partially tied to its interventions being morally justified. Acknowledging their role in genocide would help shatter this facade, exposing the state as a tool of imperialism, not a "beacon of democracy and freedom".

George Jackson aptly described the state as maintaining an illusion of "legitimacy" through manufactured narratives of justice and moral superiority. This prestige must be upheld at all costs, and for that, the U.S. uses its control over cultural production to present itself as an agent of freedom.

The media, as a crucial arm of the state, plays a major role. Major news outlets don’t exist independently of state power; they are deeply intertwined with the ruling class. In covering Palestine, they push narratives that frame Israel as a "victim" defending itself, while demonizing Palestinians.

Manufacturing consent isn't just about propaganda, it's a comprehensive system by which the ruling class ensures ideological dominance. In the case of Palestine, the state and its apparatuses—from media to education—work in tandem to shape public perception, ensuring support for U.S. imperialism.

The U.S. will never recognize the Palestinian genocide while it occurs because it would mean admitting complicity. It’s not just silence—they've funded, empowered, and denied it, all to protect their empire's interests and perceived "prestige." 🧵🔻
