It helps create the feel of actual battle, people get distracted, people lose footing, etc. Using failed rolls as reasons for those things happening, giving another player an opening makes even someone who has whiffed all of their attacks feel like they’re still contributing to the fight.

Dude yes! I also like to narrate successes in combat as partly being due to previous failed attempts by party members.

Fighter misses: “You swing your longsword, but the berserker parries the attack”.

Thief hits: “As the enemy is parrying, you’re able to sneak in and stab him in the side.”

I didn't learn my lesson to not listen to @pinkfohawk.bsky.social at work. My co workers probably think im some kind of fuckin whackjob from snickering and smiling so much cause im listen to a yuppy kick a doctor in the nuts. God Pink Fohawk is amazing.

Do you just use a spreadsheet?
How do you categorize them?
