Happiness is having just ordered book 1, repatriating it from Virginia to Scotland to join my book 2. A lot closer to Dundee, whence it presumably originated.
I once had an interview in Virginia ... but I wouldn't have my PhD here if I'd got the job there.

I'm frequently told I'm 'ridiculous' and 'getting worse as I get older'. It feels I'm being destroyed from the inside out.

I wish to protest. This soup was supposed to give me 'a cosy and comforting cuddle'. Because of inadequate instructions for the new blender, and a hyper grumpy invalid, all I got was #abuse, followed by a slammed door, and then #stonewalling.
Pass me the tissues.

My invalid (often grumpy with me on a good day) doesn't feel up to a shower and is reluctant to WASH.
These are uncharted waters I'm navigating!

Something else you learn. Trying to laugh at or pour scorn on it, only makes them worse.

I had the material in my stash! I tried the pattern on a looser-weave stretch fabric less successfully last autumn. But this week, I was feeling thoroughly fed up with myself, and forced myself to get the sewing machine out. Pattern is McCall's M6844, but I'm afraid seems to be out of print.

Has not been a great week. Nonetheless, I told myself yesterday that, even if sewing didn't improve my mood, I would at least gain a jacket.
In fact, the jacket HAS helped - I love it.
