Today was weird.
1) woke up at 3am and couldn't go back to sleep.
2) started weight training per my Dr's advice.
3) mass shooting happened today at a Target next to where I got Chinese food yesterday
4) apparently there is discourse about public defenders being bad people? What?

I'm going to bed.

Funny how it gives a specific example of how they get things wrong... all the time.

I am not, nor do I think i ever will be. Not because I dont like nebula, I love a lot of content there. But much like the career of a racecar driver, I wouldn't even know where to start to get on nebula...

Also my subscriber count is probably too tiny for them.

To be clear, im not quitting. Im deep in editing mode right now.
I just think about those folks sometimes. Im gratefull for the chance to see their work, even if for a short time.

And all that work, more often than not, doesn't pay off. Many of those videos never make any money, but also, never get picked up for folks to see it. It's exhausting.

I cant speak for other genres, but from the folks i know who do video essays, we research for extended periods, write these long scripts, edit videos that range from television episodes to feature films and sometimes miniseries length. Most of them done solo.

I often think about other folks who made video essays on youtube, specifically those who stopped.

The ones who made a handful of videos, or just one, then walked away. Maybe it went viral. Maybe none of their videos did.

Selfishly, I'd love for them to make more. As a creator, I get why they dont.

It is an interesting feeling to have a professor from a very prestigious law school (top 15 school that I didn't get into...) ask me to speak to their class this fall on my legal specialty.

I actually used to work for one of those companies in their contracts department, and no amount of money would ever have me go back. Worst company I've ever worked for. Super toxic place.

So my computer is bricked until at least Thursday. I'm... frustrated to say the least.

Also, my computer's cooling system is dying, so my cpu is idling at over 60°c and shoots up to over 100°c when it is working (like when editing videos) then shutting itself down. I ordered a new cooling unit.
