I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

It’s a good question. Prior to colorectal surgery I optimised my 84 yr old relative with exercise and then pre op carb drinks. The nurses told me my relative stood out from other patients in recover, apparently he was happily sitting up and chatting.

Wes Streeting holds winter crisis talks with NHS bosses in England Health secretary tells hospitals to put safety above waiting time targets after service warned of potential β€˜quad-demic’

If they are concerned about NHS capacity this winter with a potential quademic of aerosol transmitted diseases isn’t it time to try n prevent more by ventilation/masking and expanding vax capacity eg why only 75-79 yr old but not 81yr old eligible for RSV?

Another reminder:

Respiratory infections spread mainly through the air. That’s why they affect the lungs.

Masks, worn correctly and consistently, reduce the spread of respiratory infections.

Respirators work better than masks.

Washing hands isn’t wrong, but it won’t stop airborne transmission.
