School ban on phones does not improve grades or health, says UK study Researchers find restrictive policies do not lower overall time children spend on their phones throughout the day

New study backs up what a lot of us have been saying for a while now: smartphone bans in school aren't a magic fix for everything we're worrying about. It's time to start seriously thinking about how we build better digital literacy skills: www.theguardian.com/education/20...

The price of a cigarette: 20 minutes of life? Click on the article title to read more.

Smoking kills.

It’s a message most people will have heard. But just how much does smoking affect life expectancy?

In a new editorial, we estimate that on average, each cigarette steals approximately 20 minutes of life.

Prof Alan Boobis mythbusting on the harms of e-cigarettes.

There is no evidence of a link between vaping and popcorn lung.

The chemical that causes popcorn lung (diacetyl) has been banned from use in e-cigs since 2016.

There have been no cases linked to vaping.
