Indies work hard to keep their patients, staff, & communities safe-but they can't do it alone. Keep Our Clinics provides indies with the funding and support they need to create safe & secure clinic environments.

Indie clinics partner with abortion funds, train future providers, and challenge harmful laws. They help patients navigate confusing policies and long travel distances. Communities need clinics, and clinics need support. Read the full report: communitiesneedclinics.org

At the same time, providers remain committed. At least 60 new independent clinics have opened since 2022, responding to gaps created by bans.

Independent clinics serve as community anchors offering compassionate care even as threats and financial strain grow. Since 2022, 100 independent clinics have closed or stopped providing abortion care. Closures are concentrated in the South and Midwest.

We just released the 2025 Communities Need Clinics report. Findings show once again how essential indie abortion clinics are to access in the U.S. #IndiesProvide the majority of abortions & operate the most clinics in states w/ the harshest restrictions. They also provide most later abortion care.
