Then, when the bill hits, they'll realize "we could use an API/much cheaper algorithms." Many engineers will get their promotions refactoring AI flows to "dumb" integrations

And it was absolutely the most stress Iβve ever felt around witnessing a single act of kindness.
At a red light, a police car pulled up behind me. The lights flashed on, and the officer stepped out and approached the driverβs side of my car.
And then past me, towards the homeless man begging on the corner of the highway on-ramp. The officer raised a hand, signaling to the man to stay there.

One of the things Iβve noticed more and more as a developer, is the difference between:
- βYou are not allowed to do Xβ
- βYou should not do Xβ
- βIt is impossible to do Xβ
Because the tenacious developer is only stopped by one of these three.
I worked in advertising for a while (for my sins), and one day I was having a conversation with a fellow writer about Bentleys. I said βitβs weird that Bentleys donβt advertise.β
He said, βoh, they do. Just not in any place youβll ever see.β
And that was the poorest Iβd felt in a while.
βDonβt worryβ, my toddler says, out of nowhere.
Immediately, I do the opposite.
I think the things I want most from the blue sky app right now are:
- lists, separate from follows.
- when I enter a view from a card (so, Iβve swiped up to enter), I want to be able to βcloseβ that view.
Either by swiping it back down from a handle at the top, or hitting a close button.
Getting paid took forever.
So when I finally went to go buy the thing I had made, it ended up being the very last pair available, and was four sizes too small.
Apparently it was a limited run!
The official D&D tennis shoe.
I designed them in a contest, and won first place for a $1000 prize.
They were sold at $120. I was unemployed and early in my career then, so I needed that prize money to even buy them.
Just used the flashlight feature on my watch, and it was surprisingly effective.
Very much a 50βs vision of the future moment.
Welp, hereβs one more app to explore.
