After two and a half years in the State Assembly, I’m stepping into a new role as Director of Legislative Affairs at the NYC Department of Correction.

This is a pivotal time for the agency, and I look forward to building on my experience to support the Department’s work and mission.

This evening I joined elected colleagues, community members, and the family of Detective First Grade Didarul Islam for a vigil held at the 47 Precinct.

Det. Islam died a hero in service to our city. We owe him more than words. His courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This is huge news for communities across NYC and the Upper West Side.

I grew up at West Side Kids.

For all 29 years of my life, it's been a constant on 84th. No matter where I was headed, seeing it on the corner always reminded me of my childhood.

It is a heartbreaking loss to the UWS community to see this staple closing.

🇬🇪An honor to present the Consul General of Georgia with an Assembly Resolution memorializing May 26 as Georgian Independence Day.

This Resolution, passed by the Assembly & signed by the Governor, recognizes the Georgian-American community & all their contributions to our state!

It was bittersweet to address the 61 Precinct Community Council for the final time as a representative of the NYS Assembly.

As this month and my time with the Assembly comes to a close, I share my deepest thanks to the Community Council.

It’s been an honor to serve alongside you.
