As a Burmese Buddhist, I'd feel more comfortable in a city governed by a random Muslim mayor whose policies I'm unaware of—let alone a socialist Muslim—than a random Burmese Buddhist one given the track record of debacles by Burmese "Buddhists" and their non-Buddhist counterparts ...

Congratulations to Zohran Mamdani, the first Democratic Socialist elected to New York City's mayoral office—who also happens to be a Muslim of South Asian descent.
