Server outage I apologize for the outage earlier, power was out longer than the UPS battery could handle; they're really only there for short outages of 1-5 minutes which are rare, but happen.. this was a multi hour outage which has never happened in the 15 years that i've lived where the server is located. The power outage was due to an electrical fire... I guess I should plan for those now. Again sorry for any trouble!

the battery just arrived.. as it's so late i decided to just hot swap the battery... and it's now done. no downtime. hooray!

Server down time A heads up: I'll be taking down the server tomorrow at some point to replace a UPS battery (when the battery arrives). Down time should not be more than a few minutes. @dilly

Downtime Sorry for the downtime recently - I have a love hate relation with unraid and docker. Docker images were not upgrading properly which required a total server reboot to address. I rebuilt docker now which HOPEFULLY fixes the issue going forward... we'll see.

Wiki is now up! I created a wiki for this site and the others that I run in a centralized location that contains site information, uptime statues and a way to donate if you like. You can check it out at wiki.abyss.net/ (before you ask what abyss.net is... it's my oldest domain and what I put all of my personal projects under, so it made sense in this case to be the hub for everything going forward)

Seems much much quicker to me. If you notice ANY slowness let me know. I have the old server for about 2 weeks longer so if you all think it's slower now I can always move back and cancel the new server.

What's that?! Server upgrades! I ordered a new dedicated server that should speed this site up considerably. Should be done with the move tomorrow. If all goes well it should be seamless with little/no downtime... we'll see how that goes. Lol Also, I have a mastodon server up at turtlesallthewaydown.com and a lemmy server at kitty.ly you all should check out.

Increased performance I made some changes which should further speed up things. I did notice one issue with avatars, if yours got screwed up you can reset it by going to the home icon > photos and setting the avatar picture again there.

Dilly of a Pickle gets a chat server! I set up a matrix server, you can sign up and chat at chat.dillyofapickle.com .. it's linked to our discord server in channel parity. Test it out and let me know if you notice any issues!
