On 23 October, the Defence Readiness Roadmap 2030 was presented at the European Council. The roadmap makes proposals for EU Member States to work together to address shortfalls in all priority capability areas and to ensure that we are defence-ready by 2030.

Ukraine’s fight for freedom continues.
And so does our support.
In Kyiv, I was glad to hand over equipment worth €6.5 million to Ukrainian services.
This includes drone jamming systems, minibuses and four-wheel drive vehicles to reach remote and inaccessible locations.
Use of chemical weapons is completely unacceptable.
Today, the EU decided to prolong sanctions on 25 persons and 6 entities to counter the proliferation and use of chemical weapons.

I just spoke with my colleagues in our Delegation in Kyiv, after our building was damaged by a Russian strike.
Your resolve to keep supporting Ukraine gives us strength. No diplomatic mission should ever be a target.
In response, we are summoning the Russian envoy in Brussels.
