Renters, builders defend San Diego's ADU program as council backs off repeal effort The City Council rescinded a request to repeal the city's landmark ADU bonus program, but pledged to work with Mayor Todd Gloria to limit where it applies.

Councilmember Jen Campbell held up a picture of an ADU development in Clairemont yesterday as an example of poor design.

I was at that exact ADU complex on Friday and spoke with a tenant, Sarah Agudo. She told me she loved her home and is glad it got built.

🚨 San Diego's renown affordable housing program is under threat.

The ADU Bonus Program created 115+ affordable homes in just 3 years (compared to 3 homes in the previous 7 years).

On Tuesday, City Council votes to begin dismantling it. 🧵/6

Is this blanket-wide every meter will now be $2.50, or is this allowing the City/Parking Districts to raise rates up to $2.50 (similar to what exists in Downtown)?
