A welcome return to #Cannock and another sold-out reading of 'Figure on the Pier' in partnership with #Staffordshire Libraries.
50 people jumping out of their seats is quite a sight!
This outing marked yet another literary event in support of the #NationalYearofReading2026.

1/2 πŸ“š I had a fabulous time last night watching POCK, the latest dark tale to escape the vaults of Weeping Bank Library, at the Old Red Lion Playhouse in Islington. Pictured here with β€˜The Librarian’ himself. A great reminder of how powerful live performance can be.

A creepy and uncanny Sunday night witnessing the reading of two Gothic tales.

The first tale is a ghost story, in the vein of Edith Nesbit and M.R. James.

The second segment is about witchcraft that fits well in the folk horror category.

Planning something VERY special for 22 December 2026, the 50th anniversary of The Signalman.

Clear your diaries and for God’s sake, clear the way.

Always great to catch up with David Morrissey and get some excellent ghost story recommendations. A fantastic day in Featherstone meeting library champions - David's talk had everyone motivated and asking pertinent questions about the craft of acting.

The Librarian will be resting his vocal chords over Christmas and the New Year, although he will still be writing his tales between mince pies and mulled wine.

He kicks off the 2026 tour on 18 Jan at the Old Red Lion Theatre in London.

It certainly was 'A Somewhat Gothic Christmas' last night when The Librarian opened with a scary story & then handed over the mic to the musical talents of @toriawooff.bsky.social (pictured), Natalie Wildgoose & Polly Virr.

This was our 30th event of 2025 & a great way to end the year!
