Completed my first ever solo journaling RPG and I went “Damn.” since it got dark pretty quick 😂 But I enjoyed it! I also got to practice my tarot reading with it.

also, on top of the sudoku puzzles i would mostly do instead of reaching for my phone, i started crossword puzzles and… damn i used to be so good at this 🥲 what happened to my vocabulary?!?!

journaling everyday for this month was my biggest personal achievement and i can thank downsizing for that. no more overwhelm and the obsession to fill up every page. all the uglies are put elsewhere since i discovered i ruminate a lot and that would often overshadow the good things in my day.

🌟small things i accomplished for 2026 january

• journaled every. single. day. (did not achieve this last year)
• low phone screen time (2 hours max a day; mostly for deliveries and orders 🥲)
• cooked spaghetti and pork sisig without googling the how-tos
• crossword puzzles (i feel stupid tho lmao)

I didn’t know that there are a loooooot of book trackers now? 👀 I’m still with StoryGraph though I found Margins cute but it’s not compatible with my really old iPhone so I guess not.

I don’t really have an opinion on “vibe coding” because I don’t code but damn… seeing app slops and plugin slops is so ???????? It’s like the flooding of ai slop on indie publishing but tech 😅 do we REALLY NEED all these?

I am so glad I made a switch to a Hobonichi Original. I wrote on every single page this month 🥲 I did not achieve that last year. This feels so right and I’m loving it so far.

I have things in my mind that you’ll never see posted on my socials. Sure some things are the same sentiments from most people but, I will not play around with my digital footprint like that. My stupid ramblings that I don’t believe in anymore might hunt me 20 years later and ruin my life 😂

NEW PEN DAY YAY! I’ve been waiting for this Espresso one to be restocked for soooo long. This is my first TWSBI fountain pen, and I get it now.

i realized that having a venting journal did me more harm than good. i need to work on that.

but it is a great way for my older self to check if i matured or got stuck. that's how i basically realized how my 16 year old self is so full of herself thinking she knows shit.

the last substack entry that I have was my 2025 techo kaigi. and the next one might be my 2026 techo kaigi 😂 i though i was able to write this year, unfortunately, life happened. try again next year.

Yeah. I think I'm already maxed out with the pens, inks, and journals. I need to really restrict myself to only buy new ones after I finished or filled out one. It would be difficult, but I need to persevere! 😅

I know that there’s a lot of paper and ink tests done by retailers out already, but I personally witnessed the papers being amazing as always for one month then the worst next month with the same exact pen and ink used sooooo, that’s not great at all.
