#DhMakes allowed me to rethink, see the information as a posibility, as a partial windows to look through the information again. Looking for understanding and not for perfection. Looking for time not for insane amount of data. Looking though the data window trying to understand the big picture

I guess that´s part of thinking about #DHMakes. Sometimes I feel that my visuallizations has to be exact and perfect. I forgot that with Social Network Analysis visualizations, I´m trying to capture the social dynamic that I didn´t experiment. For that, data is partial in a way, imperfect

I wasn´t sure about what kind of legend I wanted to create for the #DHMakes, so I played around with nails. I wanted a bilingual legend that mantain the esence of crafting the whole piece. I reallized that it hasn´t to be perfect, so here it´s an imporfect legend

Tbh I don’t use fancy things. Depending on the threads and nails that you want to use, but literally you just need a hammer, scissors, tweezers and glue as tools. I could send you a list of materials if you want! Btw I’m going to Stanford in December!

#DHMakes Today I went to the Media Center at @cnucaptains.bsky.social for taking some photos and scan my piece! In this way, I can create a Storymap explaining all the different parts and the components!

#DhMakes after it, time to thread the edges legend! This is the process that I usually follow which each color. Instead of tying a knot with each nail, I make a first knot and wrap the rest around it. When I finish all the color, I make the second knot and glue it. TBH, the wrapping always relax me

#DHMakes for the edges legend, I measure the wood and made two marks with a pencil. Here I’m picking the nails and use a ruler to guide me

#DHMakes Now following my notes I’m going to create the physical legend in two smaller piece of wood. One for the edges and the other for the nodes + space for a QR code.

Thanks to the @scholarslab.bsky.social I got extra materials for these legends and the whole piece! Super grateful and excited

#DHMakes After painting all the nodes, I place all the documentation and photos. I’m super happy to see it kind of finished
