Would you mind if I drew some of these? They'd make great pose studies.

I’ve been working on a technique for drawing in studio with physical media, and I’m getting pretty good results with a combination of Conté crayon, compressed and powdered graphite, and kneaded eraser on newsprint.

Recent sketch. The color and shading hasn't been clicking, but I still like the line drawing.

Thanks! It really was. I’m kind of colorblind, so I have a hard time just painting from what looks right, but my overly-analytical process for color and shading left me to get lost in the layers. This is an excellent balance.

Did you study industrial design? Your eye for technology and mechanical aesthetics is gorgeous!

Thanks. I can't take full credit for the outfit, though. It was one of those "draw your OC in this" challenges posted by @paprikalady.bsky.social. Stuff like that is really helpful for when I've been away from drawing for a bit and need to shake off the cobwebs.

Are you referring to shade smoothing? I usually do that but I mostly just use Blender as reference for layout, proportions and shadow placement.
