Lampray Class UN Rescue Tug by GarrettRS UFO: The Lamprey is a rescue craft used by the UN Space Force. It's overall design is similar asteroid haulers; it's maneuvering thrusters are all gimbled allowing for stable flight even when carrying lopsided loads and it has a large under-slung bay able to hold damaged spacecraft. Lampreys have very high delta-V letting them respond to S.O.S. calls even in the most distant parts of the solar system. Being rescue craft, Lampreys are lightly armored and have no weapons. 15 Years of Creating! by peanutjub BUILDING: I've seen a lot of anniversaries celebrated on this platform, and it didn't occur to me that I missed an important milestone for myself just a couple short months ago. I created my first ever creation on August 27, 2010 at my best friend's house in the waning days of summer vacation. What followed is hard to put to words. I'm preaching to the choir when I say that Spore is special, but it was such an important part of my childhood in so many ways. It's really nostalgic to think of that "back to school" time, when the summer evening breeze was still coming through the open windows and inside, I was playing the Civilization stage for the first time. Or blowing the candles from my Spore-themed birthday cake for my eleventh birthday! I retroactively started researching the development of Spore: finding old interviews, getting the "Making of" book, and I totally get what Maxis + team were going for. The "universe is a sandbox, and you have the keys to the kingdom" - it definitely hit its mark perfectly. It's an old game now, but it rarely shows its age because its creative philosophy was so strong to begin with. I'm not sure if the original Spore team knew how important community would be for this game. Obviously some effort went into the social features, but the ways creators have used this platform is amazing. When I look back, I can still think of specific creators I talked to after school or collaborated with. A lot of these were good friends, and were formative for me over the years. If you come back and find this, I hope you're all well! But I've stuck around (granted, with some breaks) ever since. And what a ride it's been!
