SpaceX gets green light to expand launch pad into wetlands area
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has approved SpaceX to expand its launch pad into Texas wetlands and to offset this destruction with a new mitigation bank.
SpaceX has permission to fill 17 acres of wetlands to expand its TX launch pad. That's significantly more wetlands than it has previously developed.

Communities near NASA lit luminarias so the Apollo 8 astronauts could find their way home. The tradition has continued ever since.
The residents of Timber Cove lined their streets with luminarias on Christmas Eve of 1968. One of their neighbors, NASA astronaut Jim Lovell, was circling the moon on Apollo 8, and they wanted to light his way home.
