What was the image format that would render slowly on screen from the top down? I feel like jpegs supplanted that and appeared all at once

I enjoyed a field trip with my kids to visit the famous Bowie bandstand a few years ago!

Are those still available? I loved them as a kid, despite everything about them!

A tug pulling four barges

I’ve never seen anything like this on the Thames before!

So many wonderful artefacts from this account - well worth a follow. Look at the weave quality on these 2000+ year old clothes!

I bet it is great fun - I hope it is also some measure of financial compensation for the work you do to moderate! Out of interest have you ever published the monthly best of fesshole summary on here? I just got served it on Facebook and was surprised how many great fesses I’d missed.

It was a joy the day that happened to me but it won’t happen again as I stuck with my old starter word as I play several wordle-adjacent games against my dad every day so stuck with the original one!

Thanks. Do you have the sarcastic voice set all the time?

Sounds blissful. Reminds me of a time I travelled for a weekend to the Lake District in the footsteps of an Ian McEwen novel’s protagonist, to do some of the same walks and see if the pub that featured matched his description!

Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed

That is I’m sure what it was, but it’s weird that I can’t remember when the trip was, only that it was a Big Deal

I’m sure I did something in the kielder forest when I was a kid, but have no recollection of what nor know whether the two are related…

I greatly enjoyed the track. I also have much sympathy for spousal visa issues. We dealt with my American wife’s citizenship and visa issues back in the early 2000s and that involved more than enough trips to lunar house tyvm…

I love an end of day sale - we used to empty Waitrose’s fish and meat counters when we lived near one, where prices dropped 80% on a Friday night. But that find reminds me of this which I made for my daughter’s birthday in the pandemic!

I have that same iPad keyboard, which disintegrated in similar fashion. But it gave up the ghost for typing as well not long after I was given it, so has for quite some time been an expensive iPad stand!

All the Light We Cannot See - Wikipedia

I really enjoyed all the light we cannot see, but then I work in radio and still find the very concept magical en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_the...

I felt similarly listening to the radio version of that piece on PM earlier

Seems the perfect thing to tuck away like that. Would love to have a room with something like an elliptical machine.

Quite enjoying the two big market worries over the last few months.
Maybe AI doesn’t work. Or maybe AI works.

They all look stunning - I particularly like the egg-shaped polyhedrons!

Any chance you could translate this one? I couldn’t make much of it out! Fabulous thread though
