We've brought PlanetScale Insights to Postgres.
This gives developers deep observability into query performance, index usage, anomaly detection, and more.
If you love distributed systems and databases, you should come work with me at PlanetScale!
We're looking for engineers to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance database systems. The work is challenging and simultaneously deeply rewarding.

11.07.2025 12:52 β π 15 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0We don't coddle our machines. In the event of a hardware or network failure, we automatically and aggressively fail over.
We exercise this ability daily, with no downtime, on customer databases as we ship changes and do version upgrades. In fact, no machine in our fleet lives longer than 29 days.

- Long backup and restore times
- Write contention
- Deadlocks
- Slow schema changes
- I/O limits
- Connection limits
These are all of the problems that Vitess was built to solve via horizontal sharding, connection pooling, online schema changes, and more.
