That sounds so interesting! So the guides weren't only about how to best complement the film but about how to engage or fit in with the filmgoers?

I know, right?? I feel like stars have aligned to make me her colleague! I cannot wait for all the games we'll play and collabs we'll put together.

As UT alum (PhD program) and Latino Studies pressure, I find the choice to eliminate these programs to be horrifying. Texas public universities used to be held in high regard. Abbott and the TX Republicans are destroying higher ed in the state.

That's awesome! It's terrible that something like this is needed but great that comics can support this civic work.

(Also, I apparently deleted my account when I decided to cut down on my social media diet, but I am back!) I'm looking to support public scholarship and to keep up with Latino and AfroLatino studies as well as news in academia and the games and comics industries.

β€˜Across the Spider-Verse’ and the Latino legacy of Spider-Man Latino characters have traditionally been underrepresented in mainstream comics. But Spider-Man’s backstory makes him the perfect superhero to be recast as a minority.

Hello world! I'm a professor (currently in Texas but moving to Michigan) of Latine studies who publishes and teaches in AfroLatina/o/x studies, US-Central American lit, & video games and pop culture. One publication I'm proud of is this @theconversation.com piece: theconversation.com/across-the-s...
