Review by lisibee815 - Without a Clue This was a fun book! Fast-paced and a little madcap from the get-go, with definite whodunnit ...

Loved Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson! Cozy mystery with found family vibes and a slow-burn romance, mixed with a dash of self-discovery. Love this author's voice, she writes with such a great blend of snark and sincerity! #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/4bfb...

Oh my gosh, my sister did the same thing to Mickey Rooney! She was in the flag corps and doing a choreographed routine at the grand opening of a Disney World resort. He was standing way too close to the action but he was fine

In 1981 when I was 8, I was the subject of a kidnapping hoax. Some guy called my mom at home, he knew my name and he claimed to have kidnapped me but I was actually safe at school. The police never did figure out who did it.

Underworld, Book 3 in the Mousebane & Red Mist series by C.J. Powell is out now. Really loved the first two books, and I am sorely tempted to re-up my KU subscription just for this one! #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š www.bookbub.com/books/underw...

I will! I ended up returning it because I knew I wouldn't finish in time, but I've got it on hold so hopefully I can pick it up again soon

Book title include First and Forever by Lynn Painter; George Falls Through Time by Ryan Collette; The Grumpiest Millionaire by Pippa Grant; Hunter's Treasure by Olivia Jackson, and A Little Buzzed by Alys Murray.

It was a slow reading month for me, life very rudely got in the way. πŸ™„ #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š

The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

Everything seems awful and chaotic and powerless, so I am left to do what I can only do: share some beauty with the world. I have no wise words or platitudes, but I do have a camera and empathy. A shot from my first global geomagnetic storm (2024) πŸ’›

The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow! I just started it but I have to read fast, it's a library borrow and there's someone next in line. :(

Yes, this! Libby and hoopla are such wonderful apps, if you have access to them through your library they are free and fantastic and you should be using them to get some digital books! πŸ“šπŸ’™

I have always loved going to my local library but Libby and hoopla kept me sane when I couldn't get to there to check out physical books (due to caregiving duties, illness, income issues, etc.). Both of those apps, and the library system in general, are such godsends! β™₯️

It was so tempting to call out sick today and just stay in bed reading. I didn't though, and I *really* think I should get some extra adulting points for that. #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š

I thought I knew what I was getting with A Little Buzzed by Alys Murray (high spice, some workplace relationship drama, eventually an HEA) but I was surprised & pleased by the level of emotional depth in this layered romance. 4.5 stars! #BookSky πŸ“šπŸ’™ app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/75ba...

Yes, the rows of cookies! Sometimes mom was fancy & got the "duplex" sandwich cookies with 1 chocolate & 1 vanilla side. Like you I only ate the name brands at friends' houses. Discovered as an adult that my dad bought name brand snacks for himself & kept them in his office at work. The betrayal!

Fellow 80s kid here, I can relate! In our house we only had the no-name "creme" sandwich cookies that were like 300 to a pack. Cheapest-possible snacks were the standard in my parents' house. My mom hid them from us too but I think that was more to keep my dad from eating them lol

I know it’s a cliche but books have never let me down. During every really shit time in my life, they’ve always been an escape and a way to not be myself or in my circumstances for a little while.

If I wasn’t a reader I genuinely don’t know what I’d do.

I miss when you could post Brave Norman Rockwell Townsperson and the caption could be, like, β€œR.E.M was wrong to leave β€˜Fretless’ off of Out of Time” instead of β€œThe secret police should stop murdering people.”
