idk i feel like, so much of your journey with art comes down to why you make it in the first place. Again, I could be saying absolutely nothing, and I am tired at work and wanna go home so who knows

Art looks easy to do, artists make it look effortless, and they gain followers and supporters and money for their craft, so it shouldn't be THAT hard right?

I could be talking out my ass fr, but I think this "I HAVE TO BE GOOD NOW!!!" is part of the contentification of everything we do online. People arent seeing artists who spend their life honing skills, they see content machines, cash cows etc

I remember thinking "this looks great!" or "Im little so of course it doesnt look like the guy getting paid to do this" I dont ever remember thinking "I'll never get good at this" or even that my art was /bad/. But then my journey with art was without weird social media presence or toxic rivalries

I dont remember the journey of frustration or things "not looking right" as a kid, cuz all I had to compare to were the like, sonic handbooks and ocarina of time game guides, or pressing pause on my vhs copy of the fifth element to draw my fave alien designs from the movie

or just like, without influence of other artists or things to compare to that werent like direct source material for their inspiration, right? Cuz for me, Ive been drawing since the 90s, and I never interacted with art online until like 2009 when I was 15!
