Present at the gathering in London were Ralph Hollingworth and parachutists who were about to return to Denmark. In their honour I made my own version of the dessert and toasted those brave SOE agents who dined on it 80 years ago tonight.

1/2 On Christmas eve 1944, SOE agent Jutta Graae decorated a small Christmas tree, cooked a goose and made an 'on the ration' version of Risalamande, a traditional Danish rice pudding.

In #Denmark it is #traditional to decorate the #Christmastree with the Dannebrog. The tradition dates to 1864, in #ww2 the (now banned) flags adorned many a tree as a sign of #resistance. 2 chapters of Mission Europe are on SOE in Denmark. I made these flags in honour of those agents.
