What's not mentioned in this excerpt is that this was sponsored by Third Way, a think tank that is singlemindedly devoted to convincing Democrats to cut the left out of the party. God knows the DNC has its problems, but it's misleading to frame this as a mainstream Democratic conference.

The QUESTION is how best to attach the dime bags to be strong enough to withstand wind, but easy enough for people to take.

I feel like one of those really good #knots people might have feedback, but doing a bunch of knots also seems kind of onerous. And you’re kind of limited as to how to hitch a knot onto paper/poster board/cardboard.

I see some folks judging disabled people for using Amazon or gig apps like DoorDash or UberEats.

This thread demonstrates of one of the reasons we do what we do.

A great many smart, well-meaning folks have been confused and misled by all the bad-faith questions and faux-concern.

They need calm, factual, and dare-I-say objective journalism to figure out what's going on.

A perfect example of the infantilisation of trans men and mascs. They have to pretend adult trans men are “little girls” in order to take away our agency. If they admitted they were talking about adults what they are saying would seem way more paternalistic, and downright creepy!

Reminder that it’s not just the purchase by private equity, it’s the purchase by private equity *in a leveraged buyout.*

Basically, they fund the deal by taking out a loan against the company they’re buying, then *saddle the company with the cost of purchasing itself.* It instantly fucks the books.

Not holding townhalls because constituents are pissed off is the civic equivalent and stopping testing because that way the COVID numbers can't go up.

First of all, the people making edgy jokes here aren't doing it because they think it's good messaging, they're doing it because social media is like a lefty water cooler. They're goofing off with their friends.

Second, are random Republicans ever rude online? Surely the same standard should apply.

If I could blame one journalistic tic for the mess we're in, it's regarding random posts on social media as indicative of Democratic campaign strategy.

When it comes to boycotting, just a thought. It’s okay if you can’t quit a company cold turkey. In Master Gardeners, when we encourage people to switch to native plants, the goal is 70% native, not 100%. If you were shopping at a store 80% of the time and cut it back to 60%, that 20% still hurts.
