i just think a lot of the time the fandom has this urge to protect them by not publicizing things that we don't think should become stories. like we can make them less famous. and idk if silence changes things outside insular army spaces. what changes coverage is positive counterpoints.

okay i saw the questionable heron-thing more clearly on the way back, and it definitely was a cormorant! perched on a rock in the water

this might sound callous, but bts have to live with their choices. it's part of being human for all of us! sometimes we do or say things publicly that we would rather not. we can't take those moments back for them. but what we can do is say "this is okay. we love you. this is human."

who is going to let them out of the idol box and accept them in their human moments if not us? there will always be those who misinterpret them, who create controversy out of everything. how do we counter that, how do we say "this is normal and okay" if we let fear prevent us from talking about it?

and i'm sure that fame comes with even more embarrassing moments that go out to an even wider audience. a version of what we all experience as humans, but bigger. and i also think that censoring those moments or pretending they didn't happen only puts a lid on the fullness of their humanity.

on twitter a while back (maybe still!) there was a big movement not to post videos/photos of the bts members crying. the justification was "that was a private moment, it's embarrassing, they don't want that spread around." i think yeah, maybe it *is* embarrassing. we all have moments we regret.
