If you care about literacy rates AND YOU SHOULD BECAUSE IT REALLY MATTERS, then you cannot cut school librarians.

School libraries staffed by certified school librarians improve reading capacity. Every bit of research we have proves this. It's a settled question.

Now the state is telling every school in every district that they must be removed.

These books were removed without the committee even having to read the whole book.

Please let lawmakers and the state board know this makes you mad. These books were challenged in Beaufort Co. and reconsideration committees voted to RETAIN the titles. (1/2)

Read this a few years ago, taught with it today. Christie is one of my favorite illustrators. Rockliff does a great job of intertwining history and food, which kept my exceptional Ed students’ attention. We loved learning about Georgia Gilmore and her support of the Montgomery Bus Boycott!
