Trump admin ordered by judges to use contingency funds for SNAP payments during shutdown Federal judges ruled Friday, Oct. 31 that the Trump administration must continue funding SNAP food aid benefits during the government shutdown with contingency funds.

Providing food assistance to residents in need is not just a moral issue, it’s also a legal one. I am grateful that the court has agreed that the USDA is obligated to spend available funding to support food assistance and prevent Americans from going hungry.
