Holodomor was a man made genocide. Stalin purposely starved Ukrainians, murdering millions. My own grandmother told me she used to walk to school seeing skeletal people lying on the ground, dying.

I bought these a month ago, and I am enjoying them both. Well, as much enjoyment as you can get from learning about atrocities, but still, these are great, and I highly recommend these two books if you want to learn about Ukraine's history.

Honestly, fairly well. One method I used to remember Cyrillic letters was finding a word that was pronounced identically in English. The word for "plan" in Ukrainian is "план." Same pronounciation and number of letters. So whenever I see "п", I then knew it's "p."

I speak English and Spanish at home, and I'm learning Ukrainian, Russian, Romanian, and Finnish.
