A 'phoenix' yew tree, Perthshire. A sculptural survivor. Many trees in Scotland's climate continue to grow thanks to unlikely physiological adjustments to their new positions. They're often called 'phoenix trees' i.e. they rise from the ashes! Amazing resilience.

Flamingo Land: Plans for controversial resort at Loch Lomond rejected The decision comes after years of often bitter debate over the plans for a £40m holiday park on the banks of the loch.

This atrocious development has finally been consigned to the bin! We campaigned long an hard on this one, so it is heartening to see the Scottish Government include our concerns about loss of ancient woodland in its reasoning. Congrats to all who fought locally and nationally.👏
