A 'phoenix' yew tree, Perthshire. A sculptural survivor. Many trees in Scotland's climate continue to grow thanks to unlikely physiological adjustments to their new positions. They're often called 'phoenix trees' i.e. they rise from the ashes! Amazing resilience.

This atrocious development has finally been consigned to the bin! We campaigned long an hard on this one, so it is heartening to see the Scottish Government include our concerns about loss of ancient woodland in its reasoning. Congrats to all who fought locally and nationally.π
