Old boomer woman deadnamed me in the medial office today, on purpose. An office that, in the past has been very affirmative/kind. They have it put into their system to use my chosen name. Usually just do last name DOB if in doubt. Once the dinosaurs die off can we finally just live in peace?

In the new year my grocery and necessity budget was cut by $225/mnth. Not by my choice. I have $165/mnth now for 2 people. I’m prioritizing food for my kid and trying to scrape together things I’m able to eat for myself. It’s hard to stay optimistic when shit is this bleak. America is a shithole.

I have no way out even though I’ve wanted to leave for over 15 years now. I am a solo parent and wouldn’t be able to take my kid with so we are stuck.

I live near a massive military base. I’m terrified of the future. So close I hear bombs. It’s unnerving. Civilians are always expendable. Everyone hates Americans thanks to the politics that even I hate. I just want peace for everyone no matter where they are in the world. Everyone deserves peace.

I stepped away from the news completely for the weekend to celebrate my kids birthday (at her request) and I come back this morning to find out we are now at war? What other horrors have occurred since Friday? 😭 I hate this timeline so much.

My kids virtual school is really pissing me off. I really wish we had a school she could attend in person. Rural Washington fucking sucks And I’m pretty over it.

I miss living in communal housing in Seattle. I miss the quirky crusty queer community. Always having a room mate in a common area to chat with. Always having someone to share a meal/coffee/tea with. Always someone to hang out with if you/they had a shit day. I miss it all.

I think the death of all social media would be a benefit to all of humanity but especially Americans. It seems people cannot limit their addictions to the internet and it’s making everyone socially maladjusted.

Having lived at the poverty line a majority of my life has taught me to make delicious food out of pretty much anything I can get my hands on. This weekend I made a Dutch oven full of delicious ham, potato and fennel soup for my kid. She ate most of it and LOVED it.

That is wonderful! Now more than ever it’s important to hold onto those things that bring us joy. Our joy is rebellion in a system that’s made for oppression.
