So far my review is...

This game feels like a really long side plot of a spectacular Clone Wars episode. It's cute, it's fun, and so far very light hearted

If you wanna pet every animal
Steal things
And generally play in the universe of Star Wars

It's a good game
Certainly worth getting on sale

I kinda love that the main character is kinda a bimbo and I like that a sizeable part of the game is having to play the different criminal organizations against each other and weigh decisions where no one is coming out smelling of roses

You're a scoundrel!

And its a lot of fun to lean into that

There're cute mini games where you bond with your little critter companion Nix over snacks and you can pet just about every animal you meet

It's also really fun to use Nix to distract guards or steal things!

It's not a 😠SERIOUS😠 game and maybe that's why people were so down on it? Idk

I saw a lot of folks complaining about the stealth and yeah it's a little old fashioned but not worth whining over

This game feels like a dishonored 2 or an uncharted for stealth

I maybe would have been a little disappointed if I paid full price but also there's a lot of great stuff in this game

Picked up Star Wars Outlaws on sale and so far... not seeing why so many people said the game wasn't good

The controls do feel a little clunky at times but it's also charming and very engaging

Another good game sandbagged bc it has a woman lead?

Once again there is this assertion that disabled/high risk/immunocompromised people live in a vacuum, like we don’t have healthy family members around us or caretakers who desperately need to stay healthy to avoid endangering our health or becoming disabled from their next Covid infection.

Oh friend I am worried about you 🖤

We know our oppressors want us to get divided on wedge issues

And part of not falling for this old tactic

Is to not jump to the defense of someone receiving just criticism

Even when it doesn't feel entirely fair or they're more likely to be critiqued

Bc you know you're adding to the wedge

And yet I am very careful to not shield or even appear to be shielding cis lesbians from accountability

Bc uniting around a shared identity to deflect criticism or accountability is a play out of the oppressors rule book

And doesn't actually help anyone or improve anything

And sometimes the effort to hold someone accountable for their transphobia gets messy

Bc people are messy

And sometimes layers of identity bring out the worst in people

And it's absolutely correct to call out racism or ableism etc in the push for accountability bc all of this shit is connected

As a cis lesbian I am VERY aware of how members of my identity are sometimes transphobic and I think it is very important when a member of my shared identity is transphobic to not try and minimize or distract the effort to hold them accountable

(This isn't just about cis lesbians)

Good and what's the next step?

Bc y'all have been able to do oversight this WHOLE TIME meaning since it's beginning back in 2003 and the conditions have ALWAYS been declared inhumane soooooo

What are YOU going to DO????

And hey it shouldn't have fallen on us as individuals to make up for a lack of systemic care

Yet each of us is part of the system
Our actions contribute to the system
And your actions have said that you don't care

Not enough to inconvenience or discomfort yourselves

And that's some fucking apathy

Yup.

Every single one of y'all who decided to stop masking bc it is inconvenient and uncomfortable is complicit

You know COVID is still here
You know it kills and disables people
You know wearing a mask helps prevent COVID

You know
And yet...

For me (and I share this with the understanding that what works for me might not work for you) this is why I have the goal to move completely off any Meta platform and build up my website's functionality by the end of 2026. Which even as a MUCH smaller artist will be hard and maybe won't work

Right? Like using Amazon or a musician keeping their music on Spotify... it's a balance

And yet we know these mega corporations are pouring our money into making the world worse

So if we can leave them we should
And if we can't yet
We should try to build the support so we can leave

In Garth Nix's Abhorsen series I love the quote

"Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?"

Bc it calls each of us to reflect on the nature of choice especially choices like living aligned with our ethics which, without exception, will make our lives harder
