Breaking 🚨
US CITIZEN Sunny Naqvi, born & raised outside Chicago, 2 other citizens & 3 legal residents were detained at O'Hare Airport.
CBP took Sunny to Broadview Detention, then moved her to a Wisconsin facility & finally abandoned her at a gas station after 2 days of lies to her family & police.
I know people are very sensitive about the use of the word “genocide” but the attempts to medically eliminate trans children is very clearly meets the standard because they are trying to eliminate a population and also they know some of those kids are going to kill themselves

It's stunning how ignorant the DOGE bros were who were sent into agencies. Justin Fox cannot even articulate in his own words what his "present understanding of DEI" is: he can't even formulate a coherent sentence about it. I wouldn't hire him for basic tech support. #NEH

I knew who I was in the year 2000, 12 years old, behind my computer, using the name Erin. I wanted puberty blockers so badly. My body shifted and changed in horrifying ways that I suffered for 15 years over.

Praying for the innocent lives. 🙏🏽
🚨 New airstrikes hit Tehran’s oil infrastructure. Reports say Israeli strikes targeted fuel storage and energy facilities, one of the most significant hits on Iran’s oil infrastructure since the war began.
This is the “happiness” and “liberation” @billmaher & @MarshaBlackburn think the Iranian people should be grateful for

Well, yes, trans people are getting drugs; yes, from entirely unregulated sources; yes, without counselling; yes, without blood tests; yes, they are self-administering; yes, without clinical oversight; yes, risking long term harm; yes, it is highly suboptimal.
What did you think would happen?
Actually yes I am saying that you shouldn’t dehumanize anyone
No exceptions to the rule
🤷🏽♀️
If you have the means, please donate to the Trans Continental Pipeline right now. They are a Colorado based org that helps trans people relocate and they are overwhelmed with requests. Colorado borders Kansas, and TCP has the infrastructure to help get people out.

However, previous evidence from switching off the algorithm on Meta platforms found no political effects'. Here we present results from a 2023 field experiment on Elon Musk's platform X shedding light on this puzzle. We assigned active US-based users randomly to either an algorithmic or a chronological feed for 7 weeks, measuring political attitudes and online behaviour. Switching from a chronological to an algorithmic feed increased engagement and shifted political opinion towards more conservative positions, particularly regarding policy priorities, perceptions of criminal investigations into Donald Trump and views on the war in Ukraine. In contrast, switching from the algorithmic to the chronological feed had no comparable effects. Neither switching the algorithm on nor switching it off significantly affected affective polarization or self-reported partisanship. To investigate the mechanism, we analysed users' feed content and behaviour. We found that the algorithm promotes conservative content and demotes posts by traditional media. Exposure to algorithmic content leads users to follow conservative political activist accounts, which they continue to follow even after switching off the algorithm, helping explain the asymmetry in effects. These results suggest that initial exposure to X's algorithm has persistent effects on users' current political attitudes and account-following behaviour, even in the absence of a detectable effect on partisanship.
A new paper shows that less than 2 months of exposure to Twitter’s algorithmic feed significantly shifts people’s political views to the right.
Moving from chronological feed to the algorithmic feed also increases engagement.
This is one of the most concerning papers I’ve read in awhile.

Let me explain what this genuinely EVIL memo does. The admin is doubling down on its plan to arrest, detain, and interrogate tens of thousands of legally present refugees; people already vetted who’ve lived here legally for 1+ year.
Hundreds were arrested in Minnesota before a court blocked this.
Paul Blume @PaulBlume_FOX9 · 1h BREAKING NEWS: U.S. District Court Judge Laura Provinzino has just found a government atty in CIVIL CONTEMPT of COURT for violations of her orders in a habeas case. Attorney cited is Matthew Isihara, a JAG atty from Dept. of War assisting in local US Attorney office @FOX9 (1/) Paul Blume @PaulBlume_FOX9 · 1h Judge Provinzino had ordered a detained immigrant held by ICE in El Paso, TX be released in Minnesota with all of his identification papers. ICE released the man in TX with none of his papers, forcing his attorney to find him a shelter for the night & flight back to MN (2/)

1. DHS surges 3,000 officers to Minneapolis without doing anywhere near enough prep first.
2. Hundreds of habeas cases overwhelm local courts.
3. Dozens of DOJ lawyers quit in disgust/anger.
4. The DOJ brings in JAGs to cover.
5. A JAG was just held in contempt and fined $500/day for ICE's failures.

Mr. Sim lived in the US for 43 years. He was ordered deported 20 years ago after a larceny conviction. Because Cambodia wasn’t accepting deportations, he was allowed to stay on an order of supervision.
After 20 years, he was suddenly arrested at an ICE check-in and sent to detention, where he died.
Yes, Colorado!

it's always, always, always, always, always the right time to support the right of trans people to exist in society.
the crux of the problem is that the regime denies the humanity of anyone who's not white, cis, straight, just like their fascist cookie-cutter.

People who are only engaging with social movements via social media are not going to be able to grasp the depth of collective discipline and strategy that people are coalescing around across the country. It’s not No Kings peace policing or lib brain rot. It’s almost invisible tactical maneuvering.

Please don't think anything is back to normal in Minnesota. Nothing is normal.
I know we’re strong. Don’t know if it’s enough.
If you don't live here, your Minnesota friends may tell you that it's going to be okay but I think a lot of that is them being nice so you won't worry.
It's bad here.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.
I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”
