I keep thinking about how General Gronewold said that the Oregon Guard would protect Oregonian protesters. I would love to see the Guard stand in front of that blue line at the ICE building and protect protesters from the illegal and brutal actions of ICE. What a powerful image that would create.

A woman protesting outside the ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois, was brutally assaulted by goons who used mace and sting balls on her.

We're three lines into "First they came..."

A young Black girl in a white blouse and red jumper dress walks down concrete steps while being escorted by four U.S. federal marshals in dark suits. The marshals surround her protectively as they descend the steps of what appears to be a school building. This iconic photograph captures Ruby Bridges being escorted to school during the integration of New Orleans schools in 1960.

Happy birthday to Ruby Bridges, who is the reason I was even able to pursue proper, fair higher education. What she had to endure as the first Black child to integrate schools was unimaginable. I will forever be grateful. ♥️
