Our Shannon Development Photographic Archive exhibition will be available to view in Shannon Library as part of Clare Libraries History week.

Available to view from now until October 18th, this exhibition showcases the Shannon Development Photographic Collection, donated by the Shannon Airport Group to UL in 2014. Through striking images and informative panels, it captures the transformation of the Shannon region from its rural roots to a hub of industry and tourismβ€”offering a vivid glimpse into Irish life and fashion in the latter half of the 20th century.

The exhibition forms part of Clare Libraries History Week programme, which also includes a presentation by UL archivist Dr. Kirsten Mulrennan
on Tuesday 7 October at 6.30pm in Shannon Library, highlighting the Wellcome Trust-funded project to digitise the Shannon Development
Photographic Archive.

Let's talk
Everyone is touched by mental health challenges at some point-whether personally or through someone close to them.
There are moments when life feels overwhelming, like you're carrying a weight too heavy to bear. In those times, it's easy to feel lost or alone.
But here's the truth: it's okay not to be okay.
Talking to someone can make a world of difference. Sharing your struggles doesn't make you weak-it shows strength and courage. You are not alone, even if it feels that way sometimes. Help is out there, and when you ask for it, you'll find it.
