Hearty Pot Holders - brown back ground with white border. Hearts are white with green and yellow stripes and a blue center. Crocheted with Size 3 thread.

I made these pot holders for the 2022 county fair. They are from Woman's Day Granny Squares No. 3, 1975. The brown bled into the border a little but they still got a first place. #Craftsky #Crochet #Crochetsky

That synthetic straw polypropylene yarn was hard to find. I found some on ebay and some at a local textile center garage sale. I don't see any reason real raffia wouldn't work even better though. Good luck!

My version of the Annie hat from HiStraw Hats. Crocheted in a few more colors because my selection of colors was limited with vintage Hi-Straw raffia.

Back to vintage hat patterns. I made two hats out something called Hi-Straw. It's a polypropylene type of raffia. Not super easy to work with but it does make a cute hat that can be blocked. I found the Hi-Straw on Esty. #Craftsky #Crochetsky #Crochet

Finished bucket hat from a 1979 pattern. Crocheted with Lion Brand Cotton-Ease. The brim turned out more rippled than the photos. Main color for the hat is called Lunar Rock. The flowers are Redwood and Bay Leaf.

This is my finished version of the Clouds and Rainbow hat from the 1986 Winter Omnibook issue of Crochet World. There were a lot of odd patterns in this issue. I matched the gauge and yet it turned out pretty different than their version. This is done in white yarn with purple, blue, green, orange and red stripes. I had a lot to say about this pattern on my blog. I gave it a zero stars and ripped it out.

This is their version of the crocheted Clouds and Rainbow hat. It has a big white top and and a more lacy striped area.
