Possibly, but I'd need to track down a service manual and go through it. Considering all three players came from the same lot from the same person, I think it's pretty likely they repaired stereo equipment and these were deemed not worth the effort. Which is the conclusion I've come to.

I strongly suspect that the reason these were in the big lot of stereo equipment that my customer picked up is because they were already diagnosed with pretty severe issues

I think that the European name change may be due to a Danish zoo, carrying the Zootopia brand name.
