Ballard of Songbirds & Snakes had potential, but Snow’s transformation never feels fully earned. Lucy Gray is the highlight, yet the film doesn’t dig deep enough emotionally to justify its runtime. Decent - just not compelling

Zodiac shines in its tense first act and feels like it’s building toward greatness. Unfortunately, the second and third acts drag, lingering too long on the characters’ desperation. A solid, well-made film that ultimately left me a bit unfulfilled.

A departure from the usual Guy Ritchie style. Gone are the puns and sharp comedic timing. Instead, The Covenant delivers a gritty, grounded portrayal of military life. Solid overall, even if it doesn’t leave a strong lasting impression.

The film looks at the events and decisions that led to the eventual catastrophe of Deepwater Horizon. Strong performances and grounded direction help maintain tension throughout, even when the narrative is largely procedural.

28 Days Later remains a grounded and unsettling vision of a zombie apocalypse, defined by its realism and the quiet dread of a world falling apart.

I went in with high hopes for Take Me Home To night, but it never quite gets there. The cast is strong and there are some laughs, but it lacks the comedic punch that makes these movies stand out. A missed opportunity.

Hoosiers had a whimsical, old-timey spirit that fits its era well, but it leans heavily on its score to carry the emotion. The music often does the work of elevating scenes instead of letting the characters and dialogue breathe. I get why it’s so beloved, though -

Unbelievably beautiful and emotionally powerful in ways that words can’t fully describe. A story rooted in connection and collaboration, and in the quiet power of teaching, curiosity, and the soul of knowledge.

Deadpool is pure, over-the-top comic-book chaos-raunchy, self-aware, action-packed, and somehow full of heart. Ryan Reynolds understood the assignment.

First-time watch of Fargo. Entertaining and well thought out, but it never felt as gripping as its reputation suggests. Solid film - just not the cinematic landmark it’s often made out to be.

Predator is peak 80s action - muscles, guns, aliens, and pure bravado. Loud, over-the-top, and driven by the perfect sci-fi concept. Not my favorite, but still one of the franchise’s strongest.

A fun and wacky rom-com. Palm Springs leans all the way into its over-the-top time loop premise, and that commitment is what makes it so charming. Strong comedy, great chemistry, and a surprisingly heartfelt message. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Watched The Hunchback of Notre Dame for the first time and it lands at the bottom of my Disney Renaissance ranking - but not because it’s a bad film. It’s one of Disney’s most mature and ambitious stories, tackling themes well ahead of its time.

Without nostalgia, it didn’t fully click for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I expected more from Joy Ride as a coming-of-age film. While it had its moments, much of the humor felt unnecessary and distracting. Thankfully, the third act shines, delivering genuine emotion and a strong message about connection. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
